On International Women’s Day, we had the pleasure of celebrating the remarkable achievements of women and their invaluable contributions to our organization. It was a day of appreciation for the strides we have made in promoting gender equality and embracing equity.
To mark the occasion, we organized a special event where all the women in GRDS were invited to attend. We virtually joined our distinguished guest speaker, Ms. Daisy Ekineh, who currently has over 30 years’ experience in the capital market and sits on various Boards inclusive of Greenwich Merchant Bank and FMDQ, is highly regarded for her eloquence and success in her profession. She shared her insights and experiences on how women can overcome the challenges they face in the workplace, at home and in the society at large. She focused on the importance of gender diversity, equal recognition, embracing equity, work life balance, the importance of mentoring the youth and the empowerment of women to leadership roles.
The guest speaker also emphasized the need for inclusive workplaces that promote diversity and encourage women to participate in decision-making. She discussed strategies that organizations can adopt to create a more equitable and inclusive work environment, such as unconscious bias training, flexible work arrangements, and mentorship programs.
The event was a huge success, and the women in our company felt valued and appreciated for their hard work and dedication. It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together to celebrate the achievements of women and learn about the challenges they face. We hope that this event will inspire more organizations to take concrete steps towards promoting gender equality and embracing equity in the workplace.
